Leading the Pack

Meet Terron Wilson, Diversity & Inclusion Manager

Terron is a trailblazer and innovator committed to taking a holistic approach to D&I. By establishing relationships with historically black colleges and universities and women in tech associations, she’s broadening our recruiting efforts. And she does it all with data, leading a strategy focused on sustaining algorithm fairness and ensuring the company’s leadership is cultivating an inclusive culture.

Bring your authentic self

With the help of our DE&I roadmap, we strive to provide a culture of inclusion and belonging that allows associates to share their background, cultural practices, and general thoughts about DE&I to create awareness and understanding. This opens the door to learning more about each other and providing space to bring our whole and authentic selves to work.

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity drives innovation

By fostering inclusive teams that embrace diversity of thoughts and experiences, AC Group can create innovative and inclusive products and services that support all of Kroger’s customers, CPG partners, and the communities they serve.

Diversity & Inclusion

Our women of color power squad

This dynamic leadership program in collaboration between AC Group and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber is uniquely focused on the development of women of color. Power Squad is a three-month program that provides a community for like-minded individuals to grow professionally, become influencers and develop as emerging leaders. We’re proud to continue to support the Chamber as they bring the program to more women and organizations in the area.

Diversity & Inclusion

Empowering our associate resource groups

Our associate resource groups include – but are not limited to – Women’s EDGE, with subcommittees for women in tech and women of color; Men For Equality, a group learning how to make the workplace more equal and inspiring others to take their lead; and ITOPiA, a place for introverts to be acknowledged and supported. All of our associates are invited and encouraged to join a team or start their own.

Diversity & Inclusion

Giving to causes we care about

By sponsoring programs and organizations who make D&I their priority — like International Women’s Day — we're able to broaden our impact and influence the workforce beyond our four walls. Our 2020 celebration included a vendor fair of female-owned businesses and self-care sessions led by women.

Amplifying Black voices

We believe it’s our responsibility to make our voices heard when we see racism and injustices unfold. We’re grounded in equality and committed to listening, growing and taking action. Our Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Terron Wilson, gathered reading recommendations to help understand and address racism and racial inequality.

Celebrating and elevating women

AC Group thrives because our associates live authentically and are valued for their unique contributions, no matter their gender identity. These beliefs are woven into everything Women’s EDGE does. This associate resource group is organized into multiple subcommittees, which support and celebrate the diversity of AC Group women.

    • Women of Color (all non-white women) are given a safe space to learn, connect, understand and be understood.
    • Women in Tech supports all women technologists throughout their technical career from pre-career to mature career.
    • Important and relevant topics are discussed in a holistic, brave, and constructive way with ACE (Amplify, Connect, Enrich).
    • Gender Lens raises awareness on how gender biases affect employees and course-correcting steps to take are provided.
    • Networking gives EDGE members an opportunity foster connections inclusive of all communication styles and forums.
    • Marketing & Operations encourages participation in events at varying levels of engagement – leading to a strong community.

Learn, do, inspire!

As part of our ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive culture, AC Group developed the "Inclusive Leader Journey" - an 8-week transformative, experiential program built on research regarding Intrinsic Inclusion. Hear first-hand how it impacted members of our leadership team.

Inclusive leader journey

Immerse ourselves in the experience

“The only way that we can grow is by taking the time to become aware of our inherent biases, immerse ourselves in the experience and have honest and open dialogue on where we need to go from here. The Inclusive Leader Journey provides us intentional space to pause, learn and reflect on ourselves.”

Kristin Foster, SVP Data Science

Inclusive leader journey

Stronger together

“The Learn, Do, and Inspire model has provided deliberate opportunities to pause and be more introspective. It has allowed me to partner with colleagues and have them be vulnerable with me, making us collectively stronger partners.”

Shaan Zaveri, VP Merchandising Analytics & Strategy

Inclusive leader journey

The power of the pause

“One thing that I’ve integrated into being an inclusive leader is ‘The Power of the Pause’. I have been working to consciously pause and reflect on my surroundings in order to make that a more normal reaction that will allow me to seek a shared understanding with those around me.”

Rob Fraley, Director DevOps

Inclusive leader journey

Showing true empathy is about building a connection

“An ah-ha moment for me was around ‘respectful empathy’. I’m wired to jump into action to solve problems, but showing true empathy is about building a connection with others to better understand how they think, understand others, and feel joy.”

Jennifer Bailey, VP Product + Design
